Gov't authorizes 8% increase on domestic airfares

The Government authorized an average increase of 8 percent on domestic airfares, which will come into effect from tomorrow. The Transport Secretary motioned the resolution which was published today in the Official Gazette.

This adjustment comes in addition to domestic airfares two months ago.

“It became necessary to authorize new rates on airfares, to guarantee better public service in the commercial aviation sector,” the resolution indicated.

With regard to the changes, the route Buenos Aires-Mendoza will increase, from 370 to 400 pesos, with a maximum of 758 pesos. A flight between Buenos Aires and Santa Fe will move up from 169 to 183 pesos, with a maximum price of 348 pesos.

When going to Puerto Iguazú from the Jorge Newbery Metropolitan Airport, the fares will range between 396 and 753 pesos. For Salta, between 485 and 921 pesos; Río Gallegos, between 400 and 757 pesos, and for Río Grande, between 434 and 823 pesos.
