Chávez denounces opposition plans to ‘destabilize’ Venezuela
Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez denounced that the opposition might be preparing plans to “destabilize” the country.
“Plots are not over. I want to stay alert, here in Venezuela there are groups playing to the destabilizing plot, we must watch out,” the Head of State assured during a rally.
Chávez added that “it is a responsibility of the majority of us who don’t want violence, but want peace” to watch out from those plotting actions.
He stated that the plan of the opposition is to destabilize the country “this year or the next one,” when the presidential election will be held, and for which Chávez will be seeking his re-election.
Nevertheless, the Socialist president did not give details of the plans or a clear evidence of a plot.
