UIA chief: 'CFK imposes limits to both workers and industrialists'

The president of the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA) , José De Mendiguren,  emphasized today the “determination” of president Cristina Kirchner to enhance social dialogue, and guaranteed that the industrial sector will rally “to construct consensuses” with workers.

Mendiguren mentioned that, during his meeting with CFK, he “saw a committed president, imposing limits to both workers and industrialists.” According to him, these types of meetings “differ from a Social Economic Advice one, which is also something to be discussed in another moment. Now, we are devoted to the social dialogue."

“The president demonstrated to be absolutely compromised with this idea and suggested that the dialogue stretches to the other sectors of the economy,” said the businessman in a radio address.  

The UIA leader also indicated that “it is important to engage in dialogue but with a constructive view. The important thing is to give predictability and to have building tools to reach an agreement amongst the industrial sector and the syndical forces.

“It refers to applying temporary instruments in order to obtain better competitiveness and productivity in short terms, and also greater supply of goods,” he added.

De Mendiguren also emphasized that the industrialists went to the Government House “with some suggestions, to which the President paid much attention, like the distribution of industrialists’ gains and the law for work risks," he added.
