Vargas Llosa thanks CFK's intervention against those who vetoed his visit
"I thank President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner's prompt intervention against the veto of those who didn't want me here. I hope that attitude rules her conduct and of those who support her", said the 2010 Nobel Prize Literature winner.
Once he thanked Fernández de Kirchner, Vargas Llosa said that he'd rather not talk about the controversy that was triggered amongst intellectuals that to the Book Fair. "I don't think this the adequate framework to talk about that."
Vargas Llosa is being interviewed by journalist Jorge Fernández Díaz in a conference that was broadcasted through several tv stations.
When his visit was announced, several Kircherite intellectuals, including National Library director Horacio González were irked, due to Vargas Llosa's outspoken opposition to the Fernández de Kirchner administration.
The 37th annual Book Fair began yesterday and will run until May 9th.
