Cruzeiro crush Estudiantes, both achieve pre-quarter finals
Brazil's Cruzeiro crushed Estudiantes de La Plata 3-0 during the sixth and last match of the group’s round of the Libertadores de América Cup. Both teams have achieved the pre-quarter finals.
Cruzeiro's Thiago Ribeiro opened the score at 10' of the first half, while his teammate Wallyson Maciel Monteiro netted at 45' of the same half.
At 38' of the second half, Gilberto scored Cruzeiro's third goal.
The game was held at the Ciudad de La Plata Stadium.
Cruzeiro leads the group with 13 points, while Estudiantes accumulates 10 units. In order to end this round in the first place, the Argentine team must beat its opponent by eight goals.
