Merval edges down 1.3%

The Merval panel of leading stocks index edged down 1.3 percent to 3,401.55 points.

Meanwhile, Argentina's country-risk increased 3.4 percent to 525 basis points in the JP Morgan EMBI index.

The US currency traded for $4.075/$4.035 pesos, remaining unchanged compared to the previous closing price in the main banks and foreign exchange houses in Buenos Aires downtown.

The main indicator of the Brazilian stock market's average performance dropped 1.8 percent to 66,997.90 points.

Meanwhile, the US dollar stood at R$1.580 on the local spot market.
