Bond holders, Paris Club in Italian Foreign Minister's agenda
After meeting with President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, the Italian Foreign Minister, Franco Frattini unveiled his interest on finding a solution for the Italian bond holders of Argentine titles that were not part of the debt-swap and also how the negotiations between Argentina and the Paris Club continue.
The Italian official talked to the press after the encounter held at the Government House along with the President, his counterpart Héctor Timerman and Planning Minister, Julio De Vido.
Frattini confirmed that during his meeting with Timerman at the San Martín Palace they spoke about “the bond holders of Argentine titles that were not included neither in the first nor the second debt-swap in 2010, and we are obviously willing to continue working together in order to find a possible solution.”
He also assured that “I’ve been informed about the development of the negotiations with the Paris Club and that the negotiations have advanced and that it is important to make big steps in this issue we are following with great interest.”
The Foreign Minister confirmed Fernández de Kirchner’s trip to Italy next June and added that they will sign an agreement with the Italian President to give to the Argentine Justice all the information about the citizens who disappeared during “Dirty War.”
The Head of State will visit Milano, Rome and Venice, where she will head the city’s Biennal along with a group of Argentine businessmen.
