Estudiantes advance to Libertadores' pre-quarter finals
The Champion of Argentina’s Apertura Tournament, Estudiantes de La Plata draw 1-1 with Colombia’s Deportes Tolima and qualified to the pre-quarter final of the Libertadores Cup.
Estudiantes' Federico Fernández opened the score at 24' of the first half, but Tolima's Félix Noguera managed to tie the result after a penalty kick at 31' of the same half.
The game was held at the Manuel Murillo Toro Stadium located in Ibagué city.
The winner of the Libertadores Cup 2009 remains in the second place of the Group 7 with 9 units, only a point behind the leader, Brazil’s Cruzeiro. As Deportes Tolima has 4 points and Guaraní has none, the Argentine team will classify even if it draws.
