Merval edges up
The panel of leading stocks index gained 1.6 percent to 3,376.44 points.
Meanwhile, Argentina's country-risk dropped 1.7 percent to 535 basis points in the JP Morgan EMBI index.
The US currency traded for $4.07/$4.03 pesos, remaining unchanged compared to the previous closing price in the main banks and bureaux de change in Buenos Aires downtown.Meanwhile, the euro stood at $5.71/$5.60 pesos.
The main indicator of the Brazilian stock market's average performance increased 0.8 percent to 67,995 points. It has dropped 1.9 percent so far in 2011.
Meanwhile, the US dollar declined 1.2 percent to R$1.634 on the local spot market.
