Multiple traffic accidents, death toll rises to 15

At least fifteen people have died in recent hours as a consequence of traffic accidents and crashes along different motorways across the country, mostly in Buenos Aires province, largely due to the huge influx of traffic headed toward tourist towns for the long weekend. Santa Fé, Entre Ríos and Salta provinces have also suffered fatal crashes along their motorway routes.

One of the incidents occurred yesterday afternoon along motorway 205, close to the town of Lobos, where a Toyota truck crashed into a Volkswagen Suran, claiming the lives of three youths and injuring another eight victims. The three girls who died were all aged 20.

Alongside the motorway crashes in Buenos Aires province and Santa Fé yesterday afternoon claiming six lives, there were also multiple crashes in other areas. Close to the town of Rafaela a motorcyclist died, cause of a head on head crash with a car along the motorway.

In Entre Ríos a car crash with a lorry claimed the lives of a mother and her child. The accident occurred along motorway route 39, close to Nogoyá, when a construction lorry crashed into the family’s vehicle. The father escaped the crash alive.
