Garré fires Federal Police Superintendent over Mariano Ferreyra's murder
Security Minister Nilda Garré.
Security Minister Nilda Garré fired the head of Federal Police Metropolitan Superintendence Hugo Lompizano, for the disappearance of film footage of Worker’s party member Mariano Ferreyra´s death, last October.
Lompizano was promoted last December, but Garré wanted to fire him immediately because of the missing footage. However, Federal Police head Enrique Capdevila was against the firing, and they decided to solve the issue later.
The Minister started an investigation to determine the mistakes that Lompizano made and find out that the missing footage included Ferreyra’s death, which took place amidst a fight between outsourced railway workers and Railroad Union members.
Lompizano will be replaced by Héctor Tévez.
