Pregnant policewoman injured in Balvanera, following armed robbery

A two-month pregnant policewoman was injured in the early hours of the morning after being shot in the hand by two delinquents trying to steal her motorcycle. According to police officials, the incident occurred in the neighbourhood of Balvanera at 12.30PM.

The attack took place along the junction of Saavedra and Mexico streets, where the two armed men withdrew their guns, threatening the police officer, obligating the 32-year old officer to give them her motorbike.

According to police, the officer from police station 7A was dressed in civilian clothes at the time of the incident, and while trying to resist her attackers, suffered a shot in her right hand.

The criminals managed to grab the motorcycle and escaped rapidly, in the meantime the injured officer managed to walk to a service station to ask for help. She was then sent to hospital to be treated for her wounds.
