Unión Española beat Vélez

Chile’s Unión Española defeated Vélez Sársfield 2-1 for the Group 4 of the Libertadores de América Cup. The game was held at the Santa Laura de Santiago stadium.

Martín Ligüera opened the score only 3' after the beginning of the game, while his team mate Braulio Leal netted at 26' of the same half.

Vélez's David Ramírez scored the only goal of the Argentine team at 23' of the second half of the game.

On Wednesday, Venezuela’s Caracas defeated Universidad Católica 3-1 in Santiago.
