Judge indicts Ferrobaires engine drivers in train crash case
Judge Juan Manuel Yalk indicted two engine drivers of the Ferrobaires train that collided with another train from the San Martin line and caused the death of four people in the greater Buenos Aires area of San Miguel.
Sergio Balbi and Carlos Raviola will not remain in custody. They are accused of several charges of manslaughter. Their assets were seized for $40,000 pesos.
The Judge considered that both engine drivers noticed, albeit not abide by, the red and yellow warning lights, and that they worked the train even though they were aware that two of its four brakes had been tampered with.
The collision between both trains killed four people and injured another 50 on the evening of February 16th.
