Godoy Cruz crush Independiente
Mendoza’s Godoy Cruz defeated Independiente 3-1 in the first match between two Argentine teams at the Libertadores de América Cup.
At 16' of the first half, Independiente's Facundo Parra opened the score, but his team mate Fredes netted an own goal at 28' leaving the result 1-1.
Godoy Cruz's Ariel Rojas scored at 32' leading his team to a current victory.
At 11' of the second half, Rubén Ramírez netted Godoy Cruz's third goal.
The game was held at Independiente’s Libertadores de América Stadium in Avellaneda City. The match will close the first leg of the groups round, which also counts with Uruguay’s Peñarol and Ecuador’s Liga de Quito.Independiente and Godoy Cruz accumulate three points after two games, but Peñarol leads the group with six points after it defeated Liga de Quito 1-0 in Montevideo.
