Estudiantes beat Guaraní, end group round closer to the top
Last champion of the Argentine football cup, Estudiantes de La Plata, defeated Paraguay's Guaraní 2-1 during the last match of the group 7 round of the Libertadores de América Cup.
Guaraní's Pablo Caballero opened the score at 44' of the first half of the game after a penalty kick.
Only 5' after the beginning of the second half, Estudiantes' Pablo Barrientos managed to tie the result, while his team mate Leandro González netted the second goal only two minutes later.
The game was held at Asunción’s Defensores del Chaco.
Estudiantes faced its opponent without its main players, Juan Sebastián Verón and Gastón Fernández, because of their injuries.
