PRO gathers enough votes, passes 2011 Budget in city Legislature
The city Legislature passed the 2011 Budget after the PRO party managed to reach an agreement with several members of the opposition.
26 legislators voted in favour of the bill, while 15 voted against it and 18 didn't cast their vote.The session began after 5 pm and finished three hours later.
The city Legislature began debating the 2011 Budget after it was postponed twice due to differences between the PRO party and the opposition.
Earlier, PRO sources had pointed out that they thought there were some very good chances that the budget might be approved, since the Macri administration had decided to include a $1.7 billion item in the budget, destined to increase salaries this year.
However, the opposition was said to have several objections to the budget, one of them being the increase of the debt for this year.
