Mujica says mixed committee will analyze bilateral trade with Argentina

Uruguayan President José Mujica assured that internacional commerce “is a war” and added that the bilateral commerce problems his country has with Argentina are not going to be severe, after meeting his Argentina counterpart Cristina Fernández de Kirchner on Friday.

The presidential website stated that Mujica said that a mixed committee which was created last year by Uruguay and Argentina will be in charge of analyzing the current commercial issues between both countries “one by one.”

“There is a committee I think will work correctly. It will not be so bad,” the Head of State continued, “we’ve created a mixed committee in Anchorena (the presidential residence, in June 2010) and will now have to analyze the trade issues one by one.”

“I don’t know if businessmen are going to agree (with the measure applied with Argentina). I only know that we have to fight for the trade. The international commerce is a war because it will always have opponents,” Mujica said.

“I’m sure we will get over,” he continued.
