Shopping malls' sales climb 27.2% in January

Shopping mall sales climbed 27.2 percent in January compared to the volume registered during the same month in 2010, according to the Indec national statistics bureau.

The official index also stated that it has dropped 8.1 percent against the previous month.

The shopping malls’ invoice totalled 937.5 billion pesos (224.7 billion dollars) and registered a 34 percent increase year-on-year.

Compared to the invoice reported in December, it fell 43.5 percent in January.
