Uruguay complains about trade barriers

Uruguayan lawmaker Álvaro Delgado, who heads the Industry, Energy and Mining Committee in the Lower House of Congress, warned that Argentina’s decision to extend the non-automatic import licenses to a wider range of goods “goes against Mercosur’s spirit and the frank trade bond both countries share.”

"This Argentine policy will create restrictions; it’s something unexpected which will block Uruguayan exports,” he complaint.

He also recalled “this happened six months ago, when Uruguay couldn’t sell Argentina clothes and food.”
