Argentine tourist dies in Brazil
A 59-year old Argentine woman was killed after being hit by a car in the Jureré Internacional Beach, in Florianópolis, Brazil.
Yesterday, the woman, her daughter and a young man were crossing the Buzios Av. around 10 pm when a Space Fox car hit the three of them.
The woman was severely injured and died after being taken to the hospital. Her daughter remains hospitalized and the young man, who apparently was able to see the car before it hit them, was only injured in one of his legs.
The Santa Catarina Civil Police reported that the driver was detained after he tried to escape.
The driver was released after posting bail and authorities have announced that in case of proving he was driving above the speed limit or under the influence of alcohol, he will be charged with manslaughter.
