UIA board of directors accept Méndez' resignation
The board of directors of the UIA Argentine industrial union accepted the resignation of businessman Héctor Méndez as the head of the union and designated and Miguel Acevedo as interim president until next April.
The board met earlier and agreed to have another encounter on March 1 to ratify Acevedo as the head of the union until April, when the new president for the next two years will be elected.
The encounter was held at the headquarters of the union in the midst of a strong internal conflict for the designation of who will head the union from April to the same month in 2013.
The former president Héctor Méndez was not part of the meeting.
