Sileoni confident a deal with teachers will be reached
Buenos Aires Education Minister Alberto Sileoni today assured a deal with teachers’ unions will be reached during a meeting to be held between both sides to discuss salaries demands.
"There is no way we won’t be able to reach an agreement, classes must begin,” Sileoni insisted after unionists threatened to put off classes due to begin in March.
The government had proposed to lift the minimum wage from 1,840 pesos to 2,150 between March to June and to 2,200 pesos in July.
