Merval falls 2.6%
The panel of leading stocks index edged down 2.6 percent to 3,414.06 points.
Argentina's country-risk meanwhile dropped 1.1 percent to 524 basis points in the JP Morgan EMBI index.
The US currency traded for $4.045/$4.00 pesos, remaining unchanged as the previous closing price in the main banks and foreign exchange houses in Buenos Aires downtown.
Meanwhile, the Euro traded for $5.39/$5.49 pesos.
The main indicator of the Brazilian stock market's average performance gained 0.8 percent to 64,707.59 points. It has dropped 6.6 percent so far in 2011.
Meanwhile, the US dollar went up 0.6 percent to R$ 1,671 on the local spot market.
