Swiss media crazy for Messi's 'fondue football'

The Swiss media praised the Argentina national football team’s performance in the 2-1 victory against Portugal, but most of all Lionel Messi’s magic on the pitch.

Swiss tabloid Tribune de Genéve titled “Despite Ronaldo, genius Messi takes Argentina to victory”, and added, “Not other but Barcelona’ star to put the cherry on top to end a glorious afternoon.”    

The nespaper also thanked for the ‘Pulga’s” dribbles, tricks, and accurate passing: “Stade de Genève (stadium) witnesses the work of a genius. Thanks Lionel Messi!"

Likewise, Le Matin newspaper titled “Messi stronger than Portugal” right above a picture of the Argentine striker heading a ball as a futile Cristiano Ronaldo watches.

"Sergio Batista must be happy for having an alien n his team, while Portuguese coach Paulo Bento should see la vie en rose for having a high quality midfield.”

Le Matin also put some attention on who could become Messi’s best partner within the national team: Javier Pastore. “Bringing Palermo’s playmaker into the pitch delivered an extra burst of talent for the South American side.”
