HPV vaccine to be added to official immunization schedule, CFK announces

At a press conference in the government house, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner announced that the HPV vaccine, which prevents cervical cancer, will be added to the country’s official immunization schedule.

“This disease attacks women and causes two thousand deaths a year. Cervical cancer is the second cause of cancer death,” she said during the presentation of the new National Institute of Tropical Medicine.
