BA province Gov’t places José León Suárez police station under trusteeship

Buenos Aires province Justice and Security Minister Ricardo Casal ordered to place Police Station N.4 in José León Suárez under government trusteeship after last week’s episode of violence that confronted several officers with residents from a nearby shantytown that were trying to ransack a derailed train.

According to official sources, Chief Inspector Claudio Ignacio Chirino has been named the police station’s trustee.

Official authorities, such as Chief of Police Juan Carlos Paggi and the head of the Victims Right’s Protection Center Alberto Palacio are scheduled to meet tomorrow morning with the victim’s families for additional investigations.

Internal Affairs also announced that an officer who admitted “using unauthorized ammo to shoot at the crowd” was relieved of his command.
