CFK asks unions to 'remain prudent' on salary hike demands

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.

While attending a rally in Villa del Parque along with UOCRA representatives, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner once again addressed unions and asked them “to remain prudent” in their requests for salary hikes, since some of them are asking for a 35 percent increase.

“We must ask all of you to be rational in order for our model to keep working correctly,” she warned, although she also asked businessmen to “honour” the current economic model since “they are the ones who profited the most from it.”

The President also blamed “the thirty years of unemployment previous to 2003” for “messing up the country."

She assured it was the previous "neoliberal governments who dismantled the country.”

“We are now facing a great opportunity to continue expanding a model that has flourished and conquered the hearts of millions of Argentines,” she said before closing.
