Timerman calls Mayor Macri a ‘feudal lord’
Macri is “a feudal lord,” Mr. Timerman assured, as he explained that sending Met Police officers to be trained abroad is “disrespectful to national sovereignty.”
“Mauricio Macri thinks of the city of Buenos Aires as a corporation,” therefore he can “do business with other governments independently without having to let anyone know,” the minister said.
Regarding the training courses, Mr. Timerman explained he was never aware of their existence since “taking part in them is not decided by the Foreign Ministry.”
He explained, however, that the fight against terror “does not fall under Macri’s authority,” although he “closes unauthorized deals with foreign governments.”
“It is wrong that even though I am the Foreign Minister, I have to find out about Macri’s deals with the US by reading about them on the paper. The only authorized person to close deals with a foreign country is the Foreign Minister.”
Mr. Timerman complained that in the last few days he’s been called a “schizophrenic, dyslexic, incontinent and unbalanced,” but so far no one has made a rational critique regarding his belief that the training of special forces should only be the president’s prerogative.
