Merval, Bovespa drop
The panel of leading stocks index declined 0.2 percent to 3,631.22 points. It has increased 3.1 percent so far the current year.
The US currency traded for AR$4.04/AR$4, remaining unchanged compared to the previous closing price in the main banks and foreign exchange houses in Buenos Aires downtown.
Meanwhile, the euro dropped two cents and stood at AR$5.48/AR$5.37.
The main indicator of the Brazilian stock market's average performance declined 2.2 percent to 65,269.15 points.
It has dropped 5.8 percent so far in 2011.
Meanwhile, the US dollar climbed 0.3 percent to R$1.676 on the local spot market.
