Investigation to find Julio López in Pereyra Iraola Park ends
The search being conducted by forensics and Federal Police firemen in the Pereyra Iraola Park for Julio López has concluded after four days. His son, Rubén López, was in charge of announcing it to the press and assured that Prosecutors and investigators have “done a good work.”
Rubén López added that “there is a small part of land that has to be searched, and then it will be finished.”
The search for the builder, who disappeared in 2006 after testifying against repressor Miguel Etchecolatz, began after a new anonymous witness statement toward his whereabouts was released recently.
According to the missing builder’s son, the forensic team of anthropologists and Federal Police firemen have been carrying out an intense investigation making various excavations, in search of the remains of López but yet, to no avail.
During the excavations made, the teams managed to identify at least ten different possible locations surrounding the train station of the Park, due to the scanning and search tasks being carried out, to which the Directive for Criminal Intelligence of the Ministry of Security assisted.
