One dead after failed plunder of derailed train in José Léon Suárez

At least one person was killed and several others were injured after a gang tried to plunder a derailed freight train and clashed with the police in the José León Suárez district, Buenos Aires province. Unrest is beginning to grow in the area, as residents protest in front of the local police station.

Official sources reported that the Mitre TBA train had been derailed in front of the “Villa La Cárcova” slum by area residents in order to plunder it.

The police clashed with the gang in order to avoid the plundering of the train. The shoot-out caused the death of a 17-year-old and an 18-year old, and left two people injured who were transferred to the Belgrano Hospital nearby.
