CFK urges protesters to avoid setting up road blocks, change methodology

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.

While attending the opening ceremony of a new fire station in Villa Lugano, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner praised the peaceful eviction process that took place nearby, in the Club Albariño last December, and warned that “if we try to restore order at any cost, all you’re doing is bring disorder to the country.”

“It would seem as if whenever someone breaks the law that gives us carte blanche to try and restore order at any cost. However, doing so by avoiding the law is the best way to bring disorder to the country,” she explained.

“Let's protest on the sidewalk, let’s stand on the curb instead so people can get to their homes and jobs,” she pleaded.
