CFK announces 17,33% raise for pensioners

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.

While speaking live from the Government House, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner announced a 17.33 percent raise for pensioners starting in March.

Minimum pensions are now to be set at $1,272 pesos.

After the announcement, Economy Minister Amado Boudou recalled when “the opposition used to say that under our plan we wouldn’t be able to peg pensions above 4 percent of the minimum wage. However, since we implemented it, it’s clear that raises have been more than significant.”
