Boudou praises UIA's statement, expects mounting investments
Economy Minister Amado Boudou praised a statement released by the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA) in relation to the investment level in Argentina, and highlighted the state's protectionist policies in the domestic production.
The Argentina Industrial Union yesterday issued a communiqué reporting the increase in imports during 2010 shows a strong growth for both the domestic activity and the investment sector. However, the manufacturing trade group warned that "a significant part in the increase in demand isn't translating into domestic production.
"We are pleased to read that communiqué. UIA urged local businessmen to continue investing. And we expect that to happen, in order to increase the supply of goods and services," Economy Minister Amado Boudou told reporters during a radio interview earlier today.
According to the official, "UIA's stance proves investors perceive an important level of economic certainty."
