CFK attends memorial in Río Gallegos, three months after Kirchner's death
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, along with her children Florencia and Máximo, attended a special memorial service for Néstor Kirchner in Río Gallegos, the Santa Cruz capital.
The President had put the opening ceremony of a water purification plant in the tourist town of El Calafate on hold until Friday in order to be able to attend the special memorial for her late husband on the three-month anniversary of his death.
The water purification project, financed by the Government through the National Body for Water and Sanitation Works (ENOHSA), will work to provide drinking water to the area.
CFK will resume the project in El Calafate when she arrives on Friday. The issue is said to be a “priority” for the town since the locals have been facing great problems which had in turn affected tourism.
The ceremony will be held at the water purification plant in the area of Punta Soberana of the Lago Argentino, with Santa Cruz governer Daniel Peralta, Federal Planning Minister Julio De Vido, National Public Works secretary José López and others present.
