Merval increases, Bovespa falls
The panel of leading stocks index increased 1.03 percent to 3,642.20 points.
Argentina's country-risk meanwhile rose 3.39 percent to 488 basis points in the JP Morgan EMBI index.
The US currency traded for $4.015/$3.975 pesos, increasing 0.05 cents compared to the previous closing price in the main banks and foreign exchange houses in Buenos Aires downtown.
The main indicator of the Brazilian stock market's average performance declined 1.03 percent to 68,709.22 points.
It has dropped 0.4 percent so far in 2011.
