Merval hits new record as Bovespa drops
The panel of leading stocks increased 0.7 percent to 3,664.82 points. Meanwhile, Argentina's country-risk fell 2.4 percent to 469 basis points in the JP Morgan EMBI index.
The US currency traded for $4.01/$3.97 pesos, remaining unchanged compared to the previous closing price in the main banks and foreign exchange houses in Buenos Aires downtown.
Meanwhile, the main indicator of the Brazilian stock market's average performance dropped 0.7 percent to 69,561.53 points..
The Brazilian currency increased 0.06 percent to 1.670/1.672 per US dollar on the local spot market, after the neighbouring country raised interest rates for the first time since July.
