Merval, local bonds rise while Bovespa falls

The panel of leading stocks index rose 0.63 percent to 3,636.90 points.

The Bogar 2018 gained 0.25 percent; peso-denominated Par bond, 0.93 percent; GDP-linked lost 0.58 percent.

The main indicator of the Brazilian stock market's average performance declined 1.21 percent to 70,058.08 points. It has climbed 1.5 percent so far in 2011.

Meanwhile, the US dollar closed at R$1.671 on the local spot market.

Likewise, the US currency traded for $4.01/$3.97 pesos, remaining unchanged compared to the previous closing price in the main banks and foreign exchange houses in Buenos Aires downtown.
