'The mourning has ended'

Former Argentina national football team coach Diego Armando Maradona affirmed that the mourning for the national team has ended, referring to the elimination during South Africa World Cup 2010.

He also assured that he was not offered to coach other teams and told the press he is “not one of those who go to the stalls waiting for the moment to go to the bench,” meaning that he is not willing to take any coach’s post.

During a press conference held at Mar del Plata’s Islas Malvinas sports centre, where he will play an indoor show match against Colombia, Maradona said that “when I made the campaign against drugs called Sol sin Droga, I was passing through a bad moment and I did it bad; but now I’m feeling alright and I would like to give my support to someone in order to leave the kids out of the streets, because many things can be done and Daniel (Scioli), President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and Aníbal (Fernández) are aware of that.”

“But I don’t want to get a place at the government, because I belong to the people,” the sports icon continued.

Regarding football issues, Maradona praised Argentina and Barcelona’s striker Lionel Messi after assuring that “there is only one Ballon D’Or and it was given to the best player.” He also said that All Boys is not the most convenient club for (Ariel) Ortega.
