Merval index closes down, Bovespa falls as well
The panel of leading stocks index fell 0.03 percent to 3,603.44 points.
It has climbed 2.8 percent so far in 2011.
The US currency traded for $4.010/$3.97 pesos, remaining unchanged compared to the previous closing price in the main banks and foreign exchange houses in Buenos Aires downtown.
Meanwhile, Brazil's Bovespa stock index slipped 0.72 percent to 70,578.83 points, increasing 2.6 percent so far in 2011.
