Colón season 'threatened by possible mafia group'

City mayor, Mauricio Macri spoke out against the Colón Theatre employees, and said that “the 2011 season is at risk because of a possible mafia group”.

He went on to say that employees of the theatre have not been conforming to settled rules put in place by the Ministry of Labour, and that they have not taken into account the, “great efforts and economic input” that was given by the city government, for the re-opening of the great Argentine theatre last year.

Macri continued, “We have the responsibility of putting together appropriate agreements, so that the theatre can function properly all year around and productions can get better and better. The Colón Theatre is property of the city's residents, not by these people”.
