Gov’t to conduct audit on Edesur
Amidst rumours of reevaluating their contract with Edesur, Planning Minister Julio De Vido announced that the National Electricity Regulator (ENRE) would be conducting an economic and technical audit on the energy supplier due to a series of power cuts that hurt thousands of users in the south of the city and the several Greater Buenos Aires areas last week.
The minister assured that it would be a “comprehensive” audit and it would be aimed at evaluating the company’s level of performance and the quality of its investments.
The government recently ordered the energy supplier to adapt to the 2010 Investment Plan in a period of no longer than 10 days, which means Edesur will have to invest $414 million.
The order was issued by ENRE and it was published in the Official Gazette this morning.
