Merval index falls; Bovespa rises
The panel of leading stocks index dropped 0.4 percent to 3,613.73 points. It has climbed 2.7 percent so far in 2011.
The peso-denominated Discount closed with no variation; Boden 2015, 0.5 percent; GDP-linked warrant, 0.1 percent.
The US currency traded for $4.010/$3.97 pesos, remained unchanged compared to the previous closing price in the main banks and foreign exchange houses in Buenos Aires downtown.
The main indicator of the Brazilian stock market's average performance rose 0.5 percent to 70,317.79 points, following the downward trend of the global markets.
