'Internal investigation' planned for Banco Provincia
BAPRO, Buenos Aires provincial bank is to begin an “internal investigation” to analyse what went wrong with the security system when criminals entered the bank and robbed the safety deposit boxes without anyone noticing, despite the alarm system went off.
The news was confirmed by Gustavo Marangoni, vice-president of the bank, who added, “now the justice system will be involved, and we will focus our attention exclusively on the people who have been affected.” There is a possibility that some will receive compensation for their losses.
The bank informed that it “will only be open for customers who have safety deposit boxes,” underlining that, the hours of attention are only to be from 10am, until all requests have been dealt with.
Marangoni assured “we are analysing the situation case by case, looking at each problem from the customers' point of view.” They are also “analysing the alarm and monitoring system to determine how the robbery could have been prevented,” in order to improve the security system.
