Argentine tourist murdered in Brazil
A 48-year old radiologist from Córdoba was murdered in the Brazilian island of Florianopolis after struggling with a man who was trying to steal his car, local authorities confirmed.
According to the Brazilian press, the victim, Raúl Alberto Baldo, tried to resist a carjacking in front of his wife and children.
The incident took place close to 1 am when Mr. Baldo was driving through the Rodolfo Hickel Street on a Volkswagen Suran minivan, only a few metres away from a police station in the tourist town of Canasvieiras.
As the family was looking for a hotel, the father was ambushed by a robber who, after struggling with him for a moment, shot him in the forehead, murdering him instantly.
The assailant escaped with the vehicle, which contained all of the family’s belongings.
The victim’s body was taken to the local morgue and his wife and children were assisted by an Argentine family who were vacationing there.
