'CFK remains the best person to lead this country,' Timerman
Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman once again showed his support of President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s reelection and assured he stands with those who “believe that she must become our candidate in 2011.”
He also addressed the recent controversy that arose after it was announced that she would not attend the inauguration ceremony of Brazilian President Dilma Roussef last January 1st.
“She didn’t go because this was the first year she would be without her partner after 35 years. Mrs. Rousseff knows why she didn’t attend.”
“We have an extraordinary relationship with Brazil, a relationship like we’ve never seen before and we must seize that opportunity,” he said, and assured that the Brazilian president would be visiting Argentina by the end of this month.
Timerman mentioned a great year in bilateral trade and a possible free trade agreement with the European Union as examples of the good relationship with the neighboring country.
He closed by saying that he met with President Fernández de Kirchner in order to “plan her trip to the Middle East.”
