Messi, best football player in Europe
Argentina’s national football team and Barcelona's forward, Lionel Messi, has been chosen the best football player in Europe for the second consecutive time in a survey made by journalists which has been published in the Uruguayan news paper, El País.
Meanwhile, the coach of the Real Madrid football club, Portuguese José Mourinho, has been chosen the best coach of the old continent.
Messi, the winner of the FIFA best player prize in 2009 and candidate for the Ballon d'Or 2010, received 21 votes over his team mate Xavi Hernández, a Spaniard who is also a candidate for the main prize given by Football Organization.
The third player at the podium was another candidate for the Ballon d’Or, mid-fielder Andrés Iniesta, who also plays at Barcelona and was one of the main strikers at the World Cup 2010.
