'Petrol supply back to normal', CECHA, Esso say
The daily supply of petrol, “has stabilized”, assured Marcelo Rovasio, president of the Confederation of Hydrocarbon Businesses (CECHA). This was amongst responses being made by the petrol companies themselves in saying that they are to better logistics this weekend for tourist drivers.
Rovasio also put across that, “customers are exasperated by certain news speaking of the lack of petrol, so when they do get petrol, they fill their tank. Therefore, quite unusually, there’s a huge demand.”
“If some stations have no fuel, it’s because stations are selling it all, and because of people buying so much more,” he continued. He also stated that, “Fuel supplies are back to normal as of yesterday”.
Tomás Hess, Esso’s Public Relations’ director, said that Esso had received 6 million litres of petrol and “has started logistics, to distribute 6 extra million litres to those in production,” referring to the refineries in Campana and San Lorenzo.
He went on to say that, “Esso counts on its product and on top of that, it is maximizing its crude oil petrol production as much as it can”.
