Senate approves military appointments
Upper House of Congress.
The Kirchnerite bloc managed to muster quorum and approve the 300 additional military appointments sent by the Executive Branch to the Upper House of Congress.
Among the appointments, it was the one of General César Milani, whose appointment was not considered during the last session due to the questioning he received over his participation in the "carapintada" military uprising attempt of Holy Week, 1987.
During the last Wednesday extraordinary session, the opposition had warned that they were not going to approve Milani’s appointment and Senators decided to postpone the debate. Victory Front’s Miguel Ángel Pichetto had “instructions” from the Government House to approve it.
